Dear Families

I hope you all enjoyed a relaxing break with your families and are ready and refreshed for the new school year. We are looking forward to welcoming you all on Monday.

Please read the following information regarding COVID-19:

Western Australia remains in Phase 4 of the State Government COVID-19 recovery plan. Schools are directed to continue to operate under Phase 4 Operating Guidelines. Physical distancing measures still apply, including one adult per two square metres and maintaining 1.5m between adults.

That means that nothing has changed from Term 4 last year. Parents are asked to continue the same drop off and pick up procedures that were in place in Term 4. As children will be bringing their school supplies on Monday, younger children may need assistance. So that we can manage the flow of adults in classrooms, Pre-primary, Year 1 and Year 2 will have arrangements in place so that parents can leave children’s books and stationery outside the classroom. If your child is new to the school, you are welcome to enter the classroom for the first couple of days. We will have staff positioned to assist children. Please do not use the kiss and drop if your child is unable to carry their own belongings.

Kindy

If your child is starting Kindy, one parent or caregiver for each child will be permitted in the classroom for drop off.

Kiss and Drop

If you are using the Kiss and Drop at Monota Ave, for the safety of all children, please also adhere to the following:

  • Children to alight from the car on the left
  • Parents to stay in the car – staff are there to help younger children
  • To avoid children being in the carpark between cars, keep bags in the car with children, not in the boot
  • Do not park in the Kiss and Drop
  • Indicate when pulling out
  • Do not allow children to walk across the car park

Cleaning and Hand Hygiene Products

Ongoing day cleaning and good hygiene practices remain a priority in 2021. The school is well-equipped with sanitiser, hand towels and paper towels. Good hygiene practices will be promoted and maintained at school.

Crosswalk

You may have noticed that the crosswalk on Monota Ave has been moved further down the street. This is to alleviate congestion caused when cars turn right coming out of the school.

Kind regards

Sarah Hill
