From the Principal
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
With our 50th anniversary coming up in 2025, we are doing our best to make the school look its best. That means having tradespeople onsite and some areas being roped off. We hope families will understand that these improvements will support us all in the long run.
Swimming Lessons
Swimming Lessons commence on the Tuesday 4th June in Week 8, at the Cannington Leisureplex Centre as the Monday is a Public Holiday. Please ensure all your child’s items are labelled clearly.
Parent Open Night
We love to host parent open evenings to showcase the fantastic work done at our school. Unfortunately, until very recently, out of hours activities were subject to work bans while the teachers’ union and Education Department were negotiating. Those negotiations are ongoing. We are aiming at having an open evening towards the end of next term once the industrial situation has been resolved.
Student Health
Parents and carers are reminded that large amounts of processed and/or sugary foods are not likely to support students being ready to learn. there are some terrific resources on the WA Government’s Child and School Health Resources website. You can find information on a range of topics including healthy food choices, immunisation, bedwetting and tips for supporting your child to grow and live healthily. Clicking this link will take you there.
Bike Education
Bike education continues for our students to support safe and sustainable travel to school.
Funding for these lessons comes from our participation in the Your Move program started by Mrs O’Connor and now run by Mr Ruthven.
We are looking to construct a bike track at school to further support student learning and meeting the compulsory 120 minutes of physical activity per week.

Winter Uniform
As the weather cools down, we know some of our students like to wear tights or long sleeve t-shirts under their uniform. Parents and carers are asked to support our dress code by buying these items in red or royal blue. For other items, the second-hand uniform shop is located next to the Canteen and is open from 8:15 to 8:45am on Fridays.
Kind Regards
Trevor Phoebe | Principal

River Rangers’ Adventures
So far this term, the Year 6 River Rangers have taken part in activities both in and out of school, starting with an excursion to Yanchep that includes a Treetop Adventure and Indigenous studies with Derrik Nannup, and a Birds of Prey presentation, with a peregrine falcon, wedge-tail eagle, barn owl and brown falcon. Later this term, we are going to have a shark expert give a presentation, and we will also visit Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre.

Please click the link below to watch a presentation on Birds of Prey and look closely at how enthralled the students were!

Scholastic Book Fair 2024
Thank you to our students, parents and staff who supported our book fair. It was wonderful to see so many students come into the library to shop before, after, and during school hours. Thank you to our volunteers who generously gave their time to make our book fair successful!
